Meet Ms. Bur~
Welcome to Pleasantview's MAAC program! I am Ms. Bur and I am looking forward to a fun and exciting school year for all of us! I grew up in East Detroit, graduated from EDHS, and have enjoyed teaching here for many years now. I am a proud East Detroit Shamrock Alumni! =)
A little about me: I have been teaching for 27 years, 5 in private schools and 22 in East Detroit Public Schools. I have taught first, second, third, and fourth grades over the years. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree at Eastern Michigan University and my Master’s Degree from Wayne State University.
Tips for a successful year:
1. Check your child's planner every night, sign it, and put it back into their backpack.
2. Go through your child's homework folder and backpack every night.
3. Make sure homework is completed and put back into the blue homework folder and backpack.
4. Check Power School for your child's grades and missing work.
5. Check your child's DoJo reports (you can also message me through this free app!)
We only have three rules to remember and follow:
1. Be Responsible
2. Be Respectful
3. Be Safe
If you need to contact me, the best way is through email or through DoJo messenger. My email address is [email protected]. I check my email throughout the day and during the evenings at home. If you need to contact me by phone, Pleasantview's phone number is 586-533-3400.
